About Our Business
Tutor 180 Tutoring Center was formed in 2004 by Suzy
and Dan Mahoney. The idea started years ago by Suzy's
love for math and helping students succeed. Suzy
received her education and her teaching experience in
suburban Chicago, IL. She taught math at the middle
school, high school, and community college levels before
she and Dan had their first child, Danny. At that time
they decided that Suzy would raise Danny and she
resigned from teaching. This gave her the opportunity to
begin tutoring students as a hobby to keep her math skills
sharp and to never lose touch with the experience of
teaching.
Suzy and Dan moved to Cedar Park in 2000 when Dan got
recruited from his job in Illinois to join an exciting
start-up company in Austin. Upon moving to Texas, Suzy
began tutoring again and the popularity of her services
became too much for her to handle on her own. As a
result, Tutor 180 was born! Since it's inception, Tutor
180 has grown in size and in popularity among the students,
parents and educators of Cedar Park, Leander, Round
Rock, and Austin.
